Hand Hewn Reclaimed Barnwood Box Beam Mantels
An alternative to a solid reclaimed barn wood mantel is building a hollow box beam mantel. Doing so allows you far greater precision in the final mantel dimensions. A box beam fireplace mantel is lighter and easier to install as well. Consider a box beam mantel when tolerances of your installation are more exacting and where you need more control over the final look. We make box beam fireplace mantels in all of our wood materials, including; hand hewn barn wood, rough sawn barn wood, and newly harvested wood like our European white oak.

Ordering from this listing indicates you are needing a box beam with end caps; enclosed ends so the beam appears solid when viewed from the end. We do this by mitering the face grain as the end cap (not an actual beam end cut showing the beam core). We do this simply because that is what every customer to date has requested as a 'cleaner' look. Please make sure to choose this feature or else your box beam will be open on the ends.

All of our reclaimed material is from our own onsite 30,000sf inventory and is kiln dried, fumigated for powder post beetles, nylon brushed, and often power-washed (only if this step would not significantly remove the desired patina)
